The Sony RM-DP5 Cinema Line Monitor Controller combines professional monitoring and camera control in a compact two-in-one solution for compatible Sony camera models. Designed for on-camera operation, it features a 5" 1920 x 1080 LCD touchscreen with 2000 cd/m² brightness and an included control knob. The bright display remains clearly visible in daylight, while the intuitive interface provides precise monitoring and camera control. Wireless operation is also possible by connecting a third-party video transmitter through the HDMI input.

High Color Accuracy

Sony's professional video color calibration technology delivers accurate color reproduction while compensating for color temperature drift during use. The DP5 also supports LUTs such as S-Log3, along with up to 16 uploaded presets via an SD card.

Responsive Control Knob

The included tactile control knob attaches to the side of the monitor and enables precise focus pulls with compatible Cinema Line cameras in both wired and wireless workflows. Focus and lens information can be viewed on the Lens Control page. The ergonomically designed knob provides accurate, responsive control and draws power directly from the monitor.

Focus and Zoom Support

• The focus indicator works with the control knob for precise focus pulling, allowing you to mark mechanical stop settings and focus points as needed.
• Use touch focus or touch tracking on compatible FX cameras, with the ability to switch between manual focus and autofocus for greater flexibility.
• The Lens Control page provides zoom control through physical buttons or touch operation when a compatible lens is attached to the camera. Zoom speed can be adjusted for smooth operation tailored to your project.

Intuitive Controls

Integrated buttons positioned along the LCD in a BIG6 configuration provide quick access to settings such as FPS, ISO, shutter, iris, look, and white balance. ITEM keys provide direct access to individual feature pages, while the REC button toggles recording. ASSIGN buttons and the multifunction dial can be customized to suit your workflow. A Time Counter and Audio Level Meter can also be displayed simultaneously on the monitor.

Comprehensive Image Monitoring Tools

Double-tap anywhere on the screen to magnify the image by up to 6x. Pinch to zoom and swipe to navigate the enlarged viewing area. The Scopes page provides waveform, vectorscope, false color, and zebra displays for accurate exposure monitoring. Additional tools, including an aspect marker, de-squeeze, and peaking, support precise framing and focusing.

Wired and Wireless Control

For wired operation, connect the DP5 using its Ethernet or USB-C ports. A third-party video transmitter can be connected through the HDMI input to establish a wireless connection with the camera and transmit video at up to 4K resolution.

Flexible Power Options

The DP5 can be powered using a Sony BP-U type battery installed in the rear battery plate, which also supports hot-swapping. The USB-C port can also serve as a power input when connected to a compatible external power source.

Durable Construction

A rugged aluminum body provides a lightweight yet durable design suitable for demanding production environments. Four 1/4"-20 mounting threads and four strap slots allow you to attach the included side handgrip or a separately available strap for one-handed operation. The housing features a heat-dissipating design and built-in cooling fan, while selectable operating modes help maintain stable performance in a variety of environments.
