The Sigma 50-120mm f/2.8 DC OS Contemporary Lens combines a versatile telephoto zoom range with a compact, travel-friendly design for APS-C cameras. Offering a 75-180mm equivalent focal-length range, this lens is well suited for portraits, everyday telephoto photography, travel, landscapes, and capturing distant or fast-moving subjects. Despite its broad capabilities, it measures only 3.9" long and weighs under one pound, making it easy to carry throughout the day.

Fast and Responsive Autofocus

A High-Response Linear Actuator autofocus system provides fast, precise focusing performance for a variety of subjects. It quickly shifts focus between subjects and supports accurate tracking of moving subjects, making the lens suitable for everything from static scenes to active subjects such as children and wildlife.

Focus breathing is also effectively suppressed, helping maintain consistent framing when adjusting focus. This makes the lens a capable option for professional video production as well as still photography.

Powerful Optical Stabilization

The built-in optical image stabilization system provides up to 6.5 stops of camera-shake compensation at the wide end and 4.5 stops at the telephoto end. Powered by Sigma's OS2 stabilization algorithm, the system improves handheld shooting stability and helps reduce blur when working in low-light conditions or at longer focal lengths.

Sharp and Detailed Optical Performance

The optical design incorporates one FLD element, three SLD elements, and four aspherical elements to help minimize optical aberrations and distortion while maintaining high levels of sharpness and accurate color reproduction throughout the zoom range.

The lens maintains its optical performance even when shooting wide open at f/2.8, making it well suited for low-light photography and selective-focus applications.
