A Full-Frame Companion, Redesigned
The Nikon Z5 IIC is a powerful full-frame hybrid camera designed for everyday creativity, travel, family events, and more. It combines the pro-grade imaging hardware of the Z5 II with a streamlined, consumer-friendly body that eliminates the electronic viewfinder (EVF) and uses a single SD card slot. The flat-top design encourages you to compose through the rear LCD, helping you stay connected to the moment instead of experiencing it through a small viewfinder.
Compact Full-Frame Imaging
Despite its compact design, the Z5 IIC delivers uncompromised full-frame performance. Its 24.5MP FX-format BSI CMOS sensor works with the EXPEED 7 image processor to provide detailed stills, responsive AI-powered autofocus, and full-resolution continuous shooting at up to 30 fps.
A native ISO range of 100–64000 supports shooting in a wide variety of lighting conditions, while the extended range of ISO 50–204800 provides additional flexibility in extreme situations. Compared with similarly sized cameras using smaller sensors, the full-frame sensor offers enhanced low-light performance, image quality, and depth-of-field control.
Intelligent Autofocus and Subject Detection
The Z5 IIC features an advanced autofocus system designed to keep moving subjects sharp and accurately tracked. Intelligent subject detection recognizes 10 different subject types, including people, animals, birds, and vehicles, along with a dedicated aquatic life mode.
When using Auto-Area AF, the camera can automatically detect, focus on, and track recognized subjects as they move through the frame, making it easier to capture spontaneous moments and fast-moving action.
Pre-Release Capture
Powered by the EXPEED 7 processor, Pre-Release Capture helps ensure you don't miss important moments. When activated, the camera begins recording frames when the shutter button is half-pressed, capturing a burst of up to 30 fps for as long as one second before the shutter is fully released. The buffer then retains those frames once you press the shutter completely.
5-Axis Sensor-Shift Vibration Reduction
The Z5 IIC's 5-axis sensor-shift Vibration Reduction (VR) system provides up to 5 stops of stabilization for handheld shooting. This is especially useful for long exposures, concert photography, slow-shutter action, and other low-light situations where camera movement can result in blur.
With compatible lenses, stabilization can reach up to 7.5 stops. Electronic VR is also available for handheld video recording, helping produce smoother footage without requiring additional stabilization equipment.
Advanced Hybrid Video
Designed for both stills and video, the Z5 IIC supports UHD 4K recording at up to 60 fps and Full HD recording at up to 120 fps. Video features include recording times of up to two hours, a video self-timer, built-in electronic Vibration Reduction, and the ability to save footage to the in-camera SD card or an optional external recorder through HDMI.
The camera can also create finished UHD 4K time-lapse movies in-camera. For professional workflows, it supports 12-bit N-RAW recording at resolutions up to 4032 × 2268, as well as 10-bit H.265 recording in N-Log. Multiple free RED LUTs are available for creating distinctive visual styles.
Additional video features include Product Review mode and UAC/UAV compliance for live web streaming without requiring additional software.
Creative Color Control
A dedicated Picture Control button on the top of the camera provides quick access to 31 built-in presets, including when shooting in Auto mode. Color presets can be previewed directly on the rear LCD, allowing you to see the effect of different looks before capturing an image.
Through Nikon Imaging Cloud, you can also download Creator Recipes developed by other Nikon photographers and integrate them with your existing Picture Control presets for additional creative options.
Flat-Top Design and Vari-Angle LCD
Removing the EVF gives the Z5 IIC a streamlined flat-top profile that makes it easier to carry as an everyday full-frame camera. The design is particularly suited to creators who prefer composing and reviewing images through the rear LCD.
A bright 3.2" 2.1-million-dot vari-angle touchscreen provides clear live view and image playback while allowing intuitive touch focus and camera control. Its flexible design makes it easy to compose from high, low, or unconventional shooting angles.
Low-Light Shooting Features
The Z5 IIC includes several features designed for shooting in dark environments. Warm Display Colors changes the information display from white to red, reducing screen brightness and helping preserve night vision. Starlight View enhances visibility in near-complete darkness, making it particularly useful for astrophotography.
A built-in recording light on the front of the camera also provides a clear visual indication when video recording is in progress.
Connectivity and Remote Control
The Z5 IIC offers a range of wired and wireless connectivity options for modern hybrid workflows. The headphone jack also functions as a connection for Nikon's optional MC-DC3 Remote Release Cord, while the USB-C port supports camera charging and USB Power Delivery.
A micro-HDMI output enables external recording and live viewing for more advanced video productions. Built-in SnapBridge connectivity provides wireless image transfer and remote camera control, while Bluetooth Low Energy and Wi-Fi allow the camera to communicate with compatible smart devices.
Using a connected mobile device, you can remotely trigger the shutter, view a live image, and control the camera from a distance.
Compact Standard Zoom for Everyday Shooting
The Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-50mm f/4-6.3 is a compact and versatile standard zoom lens designed for everyday photography, travel, and walkaround shooting. Covering wide-angle to normal focal lengths, its 24-50mm range provides flexibility for landscapes, street photography, portraits, and general-purpose shooting.
The retractable design keeps the lens to just 2.9" long when not in use, creating a slim profile that is easy to carry and well-suited to travel. A programmable Control Ring provides intuitive access to a variety of camera and exposure settings, while the stepping motor delivers fast, quiet, and precise autofocus for both still photography and video.
Full-Frame Optical Performance
Designed for FX-format Nikon Z-mount mirrorless cameras, the NIKKOR Z 24-50mm can also be used with DX-format models, where it provides a 36-75mm equivalent focal length range.
Its optical construction incorporates three aspherical elements that help minimize spherical aberrations and distortion for sharp, accurately rendered images. Two extra-low dispersion elements further reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations throughout the zoom range, helping maintain clarity and accurate color reproduction.
A Super Integrated Coating is applied to suppress flare and ghosting, improving contrast and color fidelity when shooting in challenging or strongly lit conditions.
Fast and Quiet Autofocus
The stepping motor provides smooth, fast, and quiet autofocus performance, making the lens suitable for both stills and video. Full-time manual focus override is also available for precise focusing adjustments when needed.
Programmable Control Ring
The customizable Control Ring is set to manual focus by default but can be programmed to control settings such as aperture or exposure compensation. This provides convenient, tactile access to frequently adjusted settings while shooting.
Reliable Exposure and Aperture Control
A specialized electromagnetic aperture mechanism provides consistent and precise exposure control, particularly useful when shooting at high continuous frame rates. The rounded seven-blade diaphragm also contributes to a smooth, pleasing out-of-focus quality for images using shallow depth of field and selective focus.
Travel-Ready Construction
The retractable design provides a compact 2.9" form factor when the lens is stored, making it an ideal companion for travel and everyday carry. Its dust- and moisture-resistant lens barrel also provides added durability when shooting in less-than-ideal weather conditions.
