Product Description

The Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED is a lightweight and versatile standard zoom lens designed specifically for Nikon’s DX-format (APS-C) digital SLR cameras. It covers a highly practical focal range that spans from a wide-angle perspective suitable for landscapes to a short telephoto range ideal for portraiture. This lens is prized by enthusiasts for its extremely portable profile, weighing only about 210 grams, which makes it an excellent choice for a "walk-around" lens that does not add significant bulk to a camera setup.

Optical performance is bolstered by the inclusion of an Extra-low Dispersion glass element and an aspherical lens element, which work together to minimize chromatic aberrations and distortions throughout the zoom range. The lens also features Nikon’s Super Integrated Coating to enhance color accuracy and reduce flare and ghosting, ensuring high-contrast images even in challenging lighting conditions. The Silent Wave Motor provides fast, quiet, and precise autofocus, making it equally effective for capturing still images and recording video.

This lens offers a cost-effective entry into the Nikon ecosystem with a build that emphasizes ease of use. It features a 52mm front filter thread for affordable accessory compatibility and an A-M switch for quick transitions between autofocus and manual focus modes. While primarily designed for DX sensors, it can also be used on FX-format bodies in a dedicated crop mode, providing a reliable and sharp solution for those seeking a durable, high-utility zoom lens.
