Product Description
The Minolta XG-1 35mm SLR Camera is a classic manual-focus film camera featuring an interchangeable-lens system, electronic shutter control, and aperture-priority automatic exposure. Introduced in the late 1970s, this camera uses the Minolta SR bayonet mount, supporting compatible Minolta MD and MC lenses. Its 35mm film format produces standard 24 × 36 mm images, while the through-the-lens, center-weighted metering system measures available light to help determine appropriate exposure settings. The electronically controlled focal-plane shutter provides speeds from 1 second to 1/1000 second, along with a Bulb setting for extended exposures. The camera includes both aperture-priority automatic exposure and manual exposure control, allowing adjustments to shutter speed and lens aperture. Its fixed pentaprism viewfinder offers approximately 93% frame coverage and 0.87× magnification with a 50mm lens, with a split-image and microprism focusing aid for manual focusing. The film-speed setting supports ISO 25 through 1600, and the camera features a self-timer, exposure compensation, and flash synchronization at 1/60 second. The camera operates using two SR44 or LR44 batteries to power its electronic exposure and shutter systems, and its body weighs approximately 490–508 grams depending on the version and configuration.
