Featuring a 32.5MP APS-C CMOS sensor and DIGIC X image processor, the R7 delivers impressive resolution, fast processing, and excellent performance for both still photography and video. With up to 30 fps continuous shooting, advanced autofocus, and in-body image stabilization, it is particularly well suited for sports, wildlife, action, portraits, and everyday photography.

The high-resolution 32.5MP APS-C CMOS sensor provides an excellent balance of detail, speed, and low-light performance. The sensor also provides a 7K recording area for oversampled 4K video at 30p, producing footage with improved sharpness, reduced moiré, and lower noise.

High-Speed Shooting and Processing

Powered by the DIGIC X image processor, the EOS R7 supports continuous shooting at up to 30 fps using its silent electronic shutter or 15 fps with the mechanical shutter. AF and AE readings are available throughout burst shooting, making the camera highly capable of tracking fast-moving subjects. The camera offers a native ISO range of 100-32000, expandable to ISO 51200 for working in difficult lighting conditions.

Advanced Autofocus

The Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system features 651 automatic AF points covering the entire sensor area for fast and precise focusing. Advanced subject detection and tracking allow the camera to recognize people, animals, and vehicles and maintain focus as they move through the frame. With a low-luminance focusing limit of -5 EV, the system can also deliver reliable autofocus performance in challenging low-light environments.

4K Video Recording

The EOS R7 supports UHD 4K video recording at up to 60p using the full width of the sensor, with 10-bit recording and Canon Log 3 for greater flexibility during post-production. A 7K area can be used for oversampled 4K recording at 30p, providing enhanced detail and image quality. Full HD recording is also available at up to 120p for slow-motion playback.

HDR-PQ recording is supported for in-camera HDR production and external recording. The camera also features microphone and headphone ports, a micro-HDMI output, and a Multi-Function Shoe for expanded accessory compatibility.

Image Stabilization and Display

The built-in 5-axis sensor-shift image stabilization system compensates for up to 7 stops of camera shake, helping produce sharper handheld photographs and smoother video. When paired with compatible optically stabilized lenses, the stabilization system can provide up to 8 stops of compensation depending on the lens.

A bright 2.36m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder provides detailed eye-level viewing with a 120 fps refresh rate for smooth motion display. The 3.0" 1.62m-dot vari-angle touchscreen LCD can be positioned for high-angle, low-angle, and front-facing shooting, making it particularly useful for video recording and creative compositions.
