Product Description

Canon EOS C80 6K Full-Frame Cinema Camera (Canon RF)

Professional 6K Full-Frame Cinema Performance in a Compact Design

Combining powerful cinema capabilities with a compact, lightweight body, the Canon EOS C80 6K Full-Frame Cinema Camera is designed for professional filmmakers, content creators, and solo operators who need exceptional image quality and versatile recording options. Featuring a 6K full-frame back-illuminated stacked CMOS sensor derived from the EOS C400, the C80 delivers impressive low-light performance, reduced noise, and highly detailed footage with the flexibility of 6K oversampling for sharper 4K imagery.

With triple base ISO settings of 800, 3200, and 12,800 in Log and RAW modes, the camera offers outstanding sensitivity across challenging lighting conditions. Its advanced Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system, built-in motorized ND filters, and simultaneous 12G-SDI and HDMI output make it a versatile solution for productions ranging from documentaries and events to commercial filmmaking and multicamera workflows.

6K Full-Frame Back-Illuminated Sensor

At the heart of the EOS C80 is a 6K full-frame stacked CMOS sensor engineered for excellent light-gathering efficiency, improved sensitivity, and reduced image noise. Its back-illuminated architecture enhances performance in low-light environments while providing the resolution needed for detailed 6K footage and oversampled 4K recording.

Flexible Recording Formats and Frame Rates

The EOS C80 supports a wide selection of professional recording formats to accommodate different production and post-production requirements. Capture full-frame 6K video at up to 30 fps in Cinema RAW Light LT, or switch to Super 35mm recording for 4K RAW ST at up to 30 fps and RAW LT at up to 60 fps.

For high-speed shooting, the camera supports oversampled 4K recording at up to 120 fps and 2K recording at up to 180 fps, with 4:2:2 10-bit color sampling. Additional slow- and fast-motion options include UHD 4K at up to 120 fps using HEVC and AVC codecs.

Canon's XF-AVC S and XF-HEVC S formats provide streamlined file naming, organized folder structures, and metadata retention within the familiar MP4 container, helping simplify editing and media management.

Canon RF Lens Mount

The integrated RF mount provides compatibility with Canon's extensive selection of RF lenses, including advanced optics featuring sophisticated coatings and optical image stabilization. Its short flange-back distance contributes to the camera's compact body design while supporting a wide range of creative shooting configurations.

For productions requiring cinema glass, an optional PL-to-RF mount adapter expands compatibility with ARRI PL-mount cine lenses. The adapter supports Cooke/i metadata and incorporates locking plates for a secure connection.

Professional Connectivity with 12G-SDI and HDMI

The EOS C80 offers comprehensive connectivity for professional production environments. Full-size HDMI and 12G-SDI BNC outputs can operate simultaneously, allowing operators to connect external monitors, wireless video transmitters, and electronic viewfinders.

Additional connections include USB-C for UVC video output and compatible smartphone or Canon GP-E2 GPS receiver connectivity. A dedicated BNC connection supports timecode input and output for easier synchronization across multicamera productions. The BNC connection can output either SDI video or timecode, but not both simultaneously.

Advanced Dual Pixel CMOS Autofocus

Canon's upgraded Dual Pixel CMOS AF II technology uses nearly the entire sensor area for focus detection, delivering responsive and accurate autofocus across the frame. The system is further enhanced by EOS iTR AF X, which uses deep-learning-based subject detection to recognize and track the human form, helping maintain reliable focus as subjects move through a scene.

Professional Audio Recording

Two mini-XLR audio inputs with phantom power and dedicated manual control dials provide flexible connectivity for professional microphones and external audio equipment. The camera supports four-channel audio recording through its dual mini-XLR inputs, built-in stereo microphone, and 3.5mm microphone input.

Built-In Motorized Neutral Density Filters

A slim, motorized ND filter mechanism is integrated into the EOS C80, allowing operators to adjust exposure quickly without changing their aperture or shutter settings. The system provides up to 10 stops of neutral density, making it easier to maintain consistent exposure and depth of field when shooting in changing lighting conditions.

Convenient ND controls positioned on the right side of the camera allow for quick adjustments while recording.

Canon Log 2, Log 3, and 3D LUT Support

Designed for professional color grading, the EOS C80 supports Canon Log 2 and Canon Log 3 gamma profiles to capture an expanded dynamic range with excellent highlight and shadow detail. This provides greater flexibility during post-production, particularly when working across varied lighting conditions.

3D LUT support enables accurate color monitoring on the camera's LCD and compatible external displays, helping filmmakers preview their intended look while recording.

Compact, Ergonomic Body with Tilting LCD

Despite its professional feature set, the EOS C80 maintains a compact and lightweight form factor inspired by the EOS C70. An integrated ergonomic grip and joystick provide comfortable handling and intuitive camera control, while the reinforced-hinge LCD monitor offers flexible positioning for different shooting angles.

The display also provides essential monitoring tools, including focus peaking, waveform displays, and other professional assist functions. A Multi-Accessory Shoe, detachable top handle, and microphone holder further expand the camera's versatility.

Dual SD Card Slots and Flexible Recording

Two SD card slots provide multiple recording configurations, including simultaneous recording for backup, relay recording for extended shooting sessions, and proxy recording to simplify post-production workflows. The EOS C80 can also capture JPEG still images.

Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Remote Camera Control

Built-in Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity support remote operation through compatible Canon control systems, including the optional RC-IP1000 and RC-IP100 controllers, using Canon's XC protocol.

The Canon Multicamera Control app for iPhone also provides remote access to essential camera functions, including monitoring, start/stop recording, focus, iris, zoom, ND filter, ISO, shutter speed, white balance, and custom picture settings.

BP-A Series Battery Compatibility

The EOS C80 is powered by the included BP-A30N battery and is also compatible with the BP-A60N battery or an external 24 VDC power adapter. Older BP-A series batteries can be used as well, although they will not supply power to accessories connected through the Multi-Accessory Shoe.

For extended production sessions, third-party camera cages can accommodate V-mount or Gold-mount battery plates for additional power options.

Canon RF 20-50mm f/4 L IS USM PZ Lens (Canon RF)

Versatile Power Zoom Performance for Video Creators

Designed for modern video production and content creation, the Canon RF 20-50mm f/4 L IS USM PZ Lens combines a versatile wide-angle-to-standard zoom range with smooth power zoom operation and advanced optical performance. Its constant f/4 maximum aperture provides consistent exposure throughout the zoom range, while compatibility with Canon RF-mount cameras makes it a flexible choice for filmmakers, vloggers, and professional content creators.

Featuring a dual Nano USM motor system, the lens offers responsive autofocus and smooth, controlled zoom adjustments. Six stops of optical image stabilization help minimize camera shake, while the choice between powered and manual zoom provides greater control over framing. Its internal zoom construction also helps maintain balance when mounted on a gimbal.

Advanced Optical Performance

Engineered for detailed, high-quality imagery, the RF 20-50mm f/4 L IS USM PZ incorporates two aspherical elements and three Ultra-Low Dispersion elements to minimize aberrations, distortion, and color fringing throughout the zoom range.

Focus breathing is carefully controlled to maintain consistent framing during focus transitions, an important advantage for video production. A fluorine coating on the front element helps repel dust, moisture, and fingerprints, making the lens easier to maintain in demanding shooting environments.

Smooth and Precise Power Zoom

The integrated power zoom system uses dual Nano USM motors to deliver smooth and controlled focal-length adjustments. A conveniently positioned wide-to-tele zoom rocker makes it easy to adjust framing while recording, providing a more professional and consistent zoom experience.

When paired with the Canon EOS R6 V, users can customize zoom behavior through the camera menu, including barrel speed, level speed, standby speed, and recording speed. The lens also supports manual zoom operation for more direct control.

Gimbal-Friendly Internal Zoom Design

The internal zoom mechanism keeps the lens length consistent during focal-length adjustments, minimizing changes to the camera's center of gravity. This makes the lens particularly well suited for gimbal-mounted setups, reducing the need for frequent balance adjustments while zooming.

Six Stops of Optical Image Stabilization

Built-in optical image stabilization provides up to six stops of shake correction, helping deliver steadier footage and sharper handheld images. This added stability is especially useful when shooting without a tripod or working in mobile production environments.

Close-Focusing Capability

With a minimum focusing distance of approximately 9.5 inches, the lens allows users to capture detailed close-up shots while maintaining flexibility across its zoom range. This makes it useful for product videos, tabletop scenes, and creative compositions.

Durable, Weather-Resistant Construction

Built for dependable performance in a variety of shooting environments, the lens features dust- and weather-resistant construction to help protect against challenging conditions. Its fluorine-coated front element provides additional protection against dirt, moisture, and smudges.

Optional Accessory: Canon BR-E2 Bluetooth Remote

The separately available Canon BR-E2 Bluetooth Remote enables wireless zoom control, providing additional flexibility when operating the lens remotely or working with solo video setups.
