This Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens is in fair used condition. The exterior is well-maintained, with smooth, non-sticky grips on both the zoom and focus rings. The glass elements are in great shape and free of scratches, though some minor internal dust is present, which is typical for a lens of this age and does not affect image quality. Mechanically, the IS and AF/MF switches are functional; however, the lens is being sold with a known intermittent electronic fault. You may encounter an "Err 01" message (communication error), and the autofocus can be slow or fail to trigger the shutter.

A versatile one-lens solution for many shooting situations, the EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Lens is a Canon L-series zoom spanning a useful wide-angle to short-telephoto range and featuring a constant f/4 maximum aperture. Complementing the flexible design is an advanced optical layout that includes one Super UD element, which reduces color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to realize a high degree of color accuracy and clarity. Three aspherical elements are also featured, and minimize distortion and spherical aberrations for improved sharpness. Additionally, a Super Spectra coating has been applied to individual elements to control flare and ghosting for high contrast and neutral color fidelity.

Balancing the refined optics, this 24-105mm f/4 also sports a ring-type USM and internal focusing mechanism to enable quick, quiet, and accurate autofocus performance, as well as full-time manual focus override. A four-stop-effective Image Stabilizer is also used to minimize the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting. Additionally, this lens is weather-sealed and has a protective fluorine coating on the exposed elements for use in trying environmental conditions.
