The Atomos Shogun Studio 4K Monitor/Recorder integrates dual color-calibrated 1920 x 1200 resolution displays with 4K video recording and edit-ready codecs in a 3 RU chassis, complete with removable rackmount ears. This setup is ideal for live events, studio work, and on-set DIT operations. Utilizing 4K HDMI and 6G-SDI inputs, the Shogun Studio records clean output signals at resolutions up to UHD 4K (3840 x 2160) at frame rates of 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97, and 30p, as well as Full HD (1920 x 1080) video up to 120 fps with compatible cameras. It records 10-bit, 4:2:2 UHD 4K and HD video in Apple ProRes HQ, 422, or LT formats, as well as HD video in Avid's DNxHD format and UHD 4K in DNxHR. Video is stored on single or raided 2.5" HDD and SSDs for fast and reliable writing speeds.
The Shogun features a 7" IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200. Calibrated for Rec. 709 color, it supports multi-frequency operation (48/50/60 Hz) for monitoring various input frame rates. An SDI loop output is available for signal pass-through to another monitor. Additionally, 4K signals can be internally down-converted to 1080p and output at the same frame rate.
The Shogun Studio supports Tally functions, custom 3D LUTs, and Genlock In for multi-camera synchronization. It offers various onscreen tools to assist in shot setup, including a full waveform monitor, RGB parade display, vectorscope, focus peaking, and framing and exposure tools. Dual slots allow for simultaneous recording of the feed to each monito
