The new SIGMA 50mm F1.2 DG DN | Art lens is here and we love it! Here at Pixel Connection, we were lucky enough to get our hands on this lens early to give you all a first look at what this lens can do!
The new SIGMA 50mm F1.2 DG DN | Art lens is SIGMA’S latest addition to their lineup of primes lenses. As the brightest SIGMA prime lens on the market, this lens delivers extremely high optical performance even at its widest aperture and enhanced performance.
Thanks to its F1.2 maximum aperture, this lens is great for shooting handheld and achieving large bokeh effects, even in low light conditions. Beautiful imagery is that much more possible with aberration corrections and a 13-blade diaphragm which delivers circular bokeh even when the aperture is stopped down.
Minimized focus breathing and very little change of angle of view as focal distance changes, means this lens is great for video. Plus, with Dual HLA-driven floated focusing this lens focuses swiftly and silently. This lens also features a manual focus ring that can be assigned to be linear or non-linear response on compatible L-Mount cameras.
This lens is lightweight, coming in at 30% smaller than SIGMA’s 35mm F1.2 DG DN | Art lens, with a streamlined optical system. It was also designed with a dust and splash-resistant build, a water and oil-repellent coating on the front lens, and a durable brass bayonet mount. This lens features a click/de-click and lockable aperture ring, AFL button, and AF/MF switch.
