Nikon Z9 Receives Feature-Packed Firmware Update 5.0

Nikon has released a substantial firmware update for its flagship mirrorless camera, the Z9. The v5.0 update brings a variety of new features and improvements to the camera, including:

  • Auto Capture: The Z9 can now automatically capture photos based on pre-selected criteria like subject motion, distance, or type.
  • Improved Functionality: Several enhancements have been made, including finer aperture bracketing options, additional customizable buttons, and faster image review.
  • General Refinements: The update also addresses metering accuracy for interval shooting and offers a numeric focus distance display.

This update follows the significant v4.0 release in February 2024, which introduced features like 8K RAW video recording and pre-release capture.

The Nikon Z9 Firmware v5.0 update is available for download from the Nikon Download Center [Nikon Z9 Firmware]. The update can be installed via computer and card reader or wirelessly through the Nikon SnapBridge app.
