DSLR vs. Mirrorless
The main difference between DSLR cameras and Mirrorless cameras is in the name. DSLR cameras work when light hits an internal mirror and reflects into a viewfinder, allowing you to see what the lens “sees”. The mirror then moves out of the way when taking the picture. As the name suggests, Mirrorless cameras do not have an internal mirror. Instead of reflecting light off an internal mirror, light directly hits the sensor. The image is then processed and displayed in an electronic viewfinder, which essentially acts as a small monitor. Overall, mirrorless cameras show a truer reflection of what the final image will look like.
Taking away the internal mirror results in several advantages that make Mirrorless technology a very viable replacement for DSLR photography.
